I agree with cutting up your credits cards but before throwing away, consider this. They are made of PVC, a highly toxic plastic that is neither recyclable nor biodegradable. It ends up in the landfills for eternity. Instead, you should advice your clients to donate unwanted credit cards to Earthworks, a company which recycles PVC so it doesn’t end up in the landfill, polluting our environment. Thank you ! You are exactly correct. Each credit card is a small amount of plastic , but added together nationwide, could be a big addition to landfills. Hopefully my readers will take your advice and recycle !

You are welcome, John. I hope your readers and you continue spreading the message to recycle unwanted credit cards. Just remember to remind them that throwing in the recycle bin is NOT the answer because PVC is not recyclable. They have to donate them to Earthworks http://www.earthworkssystem.com/index.html. They are the only known company that has taken the initiate recycle PVC.
